The Twelve Apostles
Students may read Matthew 4:18-22
Jesus chose twelve apostles: Andrew and Peter, James and John, and eight other men. One day, he called to them by the Sea of Galilee. First, he called to Andrew and Peter who were fishing near the shore. Then, he called to James and John who were mending their fishing nets with their father Zebedee. When they heard his call, they immediately left their nets and followed him. People have long remembered the words, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
