Woman at the Well - Part 2
Students may read John 4:1-26 or through verse 42
Jesus had a remarkable encounter with a woman when he was sitting beside a well in Samaria. He asked her for a drink of water and revealed that he was the source of “living water.” Then, Jesus commanded her to go and get her husband. The woman suddenly realized that Jesus knew about her life and that he was a holy man. They talked about the worship of God. When she mentioned the coming of the Messiah, Jesus made a startling statement: “I who speak to you am he.”
Discussion Questions
Jesus made this statement to a Samaritan woman who had an unusually troubled marriage life. What do you think Jesus saw in this woman that caused him to reveal his divine nature? What does this story say to us about the goodness of God?
