Glory to God
Students may read Luke 2:8-20
The beautiful Christmas story of angels and shepherds is found in Luke’s gospel. The story tells that an angel appeared to shepherds in a field near Bethlehem. The angel said, “Behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.” Suddenly, many more angels appeared. They praised God saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” Then, the shepherds hastened to Bethlehem where they found Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus.
Discussion Questions
During the Christmas season, we sing Christmas carols about “joy to the world” and “peace on earth.” Do you have a favorite carol? Jesus is known as the Prince of Peace. Can you think of some ways that Jesus brings peace on earth?
