❖❖❖❖
Journey to Bethlehem

Students may read Luke 2:1-7
Mary and Joseph lived in Nazareth, which was part of the Roman Empire. One day, “A decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be enrolled.” When Joseph heard about this, he knew what he had to do. He needed to travel to his family town of Bethlehem and add his name to the tax rolls of the empire. Mary went with Joseph even though her baby was due any day. We can picture Joseph leading a donkey, which Mary rode all the way to Bethlehem.
