Jesus rode into Jerusalem, surrounded by a joyful crowd who waved leafy branches and shouted, “Hosanna!” The Pharisees wanted to arrest him, but they saw the excitement and adoration of the crowd. The Pharisees had long sought to stop Jesus from teaching, but nothing had worked. And now, “When he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred up, saying, ‘Who is this?’ And the crowds said, ‘This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee.’”
