Week 25 of Year 5 "In Remembrance"

❖❖❖❖
In Remembrance

Students may read Luke 22:19-20 or entire section

Jesus and the apostles entered the upper room and sat down at a table that had been prepared for their Passover meal. It was their last supper together. During the meal, Jesus shared bread and wine with his disciples in a special way. He said, “Do this in remembrance of me.” Down through the centuries, people have gathered to remember Jesus and commune with his presence. This helps us experience the great truth that Jesus continues to live among us and serve through us.

Discussion Questions

Sometimes we say this experience is a mystery. What is mysterious about it? The bread and wine serve as important symbols for Jesus’ life and the Spirit that he promised to send. What helps us remember what Jesus said or did?
