Many Turn Away
Students may read John 6:60-71
Jesus spoke in the Capernaum synagogue saying, “I am the bread of life.” Some of the people heard him gladly, but many turned away from Jesus. They were offended when he spoke openly about himself. They were also disappointed that he did not fulfill their expectations. Later, Jesus asked the twelve disciples if they also wished to go away. Peter spoke up and said they would never forsake him. They had followed Jesus, learned from him, and believed his words of eternal life.
