The Transfiguration - Part 3
Students may read Mark 9:2-13
Peter, James, and John went up a high mountain with Jesus. When they reached their destination, the three disciples had an amazing experience. First, they saw Jesus with two others shining in heavenly light. Then, a bright cloud came over them, and they heard a voice say, “This is my beloved Son; listen to him.” The disciples were very afraid, and they fell on their faces in awe and worship. When the cloud disappeared, the disciples found themselves alone with Jesus.
Discussion Questions
Talk about the divine voice and the meaning of what was said. Why do you think the three disciples were given this unusual experience? Ordinary people, like us, can have a spiritual experience. What is meant by that, and when does it happen?
