Week 1 of Year 3 "The Wedding at Cana"

❖❖❖❖
The Wedding at Cana

Students may read John 2:1-12

In the early days of gathering the Twelve, Jesus and his disciples attended a wedding in the village of Cana. Jesus’ mother was also there. Unfortunately, the wine ran out during the wedding feast. Mary went to Jesus and said, “They have no wine.” But Jesus asked Mary, “What does this have to do with me?” Then, Mary went to the servants and told them they should do whatever Jesus said. Soon, the servants and others knew that water had been turned into wine.

Discussion Questions

This is considered to be Jesus’ first miracle. What is a miracle? What do you notice about Jesus and Mary’s interaction in this story? Jesus knew that wisdom should guide the use of his power. Above all, he desired to do the will of God.
