Week 7 of Year 2 "Healing the Leper"

❖❖❖❖
Healing the Leper

Students may read Mark 1:40-45

After many people were healed in Capernaum, Jesus and the disciples went out to preach the good news of the kingdom throughout Galilee. In one of the cities, a leper approached Jesus and knelt down saying, “If you will, you can make me clean.” Jesus looked upon the man with compassion. He touched him and said, “I will; be clean.” Immediately the leper was healed. Jesus said he should show himself to the priest and tell no one about this. But the joyful man went about telling everyone.

Discussion Questions

Lepers had to stay away from people, and they were not allowed to enter the synagogue for worship. But Jesus did not turn him away. What is compassion? Why did Jesus tell him not to say anything about his healing?
