Week 14 of Year 5 "Visit of the Wise Men"

❖❖❖❖
Visit of the Wise Men

Students may read Matthew 2:1-12

When Jesus was born, some majestic travelers arrived in Jerusalem searching for a child who had been born among the Jewish people. The three wise men were told to go to the city of Bethlehem. So they went and found the child of their long quest. Matthew’s gospel says, “On entering the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother; and they knelt down and paid him homage. Then, opening their treasure chests, they offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.”

Discussion Questions

Think about the long journey of the wise men. Why did they decide to search for the child? How do you think they felt when they finally found him? We can remember that Jesus said, “Seek and you shall find.”
