Nazareth in Galilee
Students may read John 1:1-18
Jesus was born in the city of Bethlehem. Then, Joseph and Mary escaped with him to Egypt where they lived for a time. When it was safe for them to return, they brought him back home to Nazareth where he grew up. We can still go to these places and think about how Jesus actually lived and walked here on earth. We can imagine what his home in Nazareth was like and how he helped his father who was a carpenter. As Jesus lived among us, he taught us about love and service.
Discussion Questions
During Christmastime, we hear verses from John’s gospel. One of the verses says, “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us.” How is it helpful that Jesus, the Word of God, lived among us? What did Jesus’ life reveal about God?
