❖❖❖❖
The Lost Sheep

Students may read Luke 15:1-7

Jesus wanted people to know something important about God. So, he told them a story about a shepherd who had a hundred sheep. One of them wandered away and became lost. The shepherd left the ninety-nine sheep and went in search of the one that was missing. When he found the sheep, he laid it gently over his shoulders and carried it back to the flock. Then, the shepherd called to his friends, saying, “Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!

Discussion Questions

What does this story tell us about God? What might cause someone to wander away from God, like the sheep wandered away from the shepherd? God is concerned for each one of us, and he goes out searching for us when we are lost.
