Healing of Bartimeus
Students may read Luke 18:35-43
A blind beggar named Bartimeus sat by the road leading into Jericho. When he heard the sounds of a crowd, he asked what was happening. They said, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.” Bartimeus cried out to Jesus even though people told him to be quiet. Jesus stopped and directed that the blind man be brought to him. “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked. Bartimeus wanted to receive his sight. Jesus said, “Go your way; your faith has made you whole.”
Discussion Questions
This healing took place during Jesus’ last journey to Jerusalem. It happened while Jesus was “passing by.” We don’t have Jesus’ power to heal, but how can we make life better for people as we go about our day? How can we spread good cheer?
