Your Will Be Done
Students may read Matthew 6:5-15
Jesus taught the disciples various things about prayer. He taught them to pray often and trust in God. He also taught them to seek God’s will in everything that they prayed for. One day, a disciple said to Jesus, "Lord, teach us to pray,” like John the Baptist taught his disciples. So, Jesus gave them a model prayer that became known as the Lord’s Prayer. Part of the prayer says, “Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
Discussion Questions
How can we know the will of God? When we choose to do God’s will, the kingdom grows within us. As more and more people choose to do God’s will, the kingdom of heaven grows among us here on earth. How do you picture the kingdom of God?
