Jesus Heals a Boy - Part 1
Students may read Mark 9:14-18 or through verse 29
After the Transfiguration, Jesus and three apostles descended the mountain to rejoin the other apostles at their camp. As they approached the camp, they saw many other people, including scribes from Jerusalem. Everyone seemed to be arguing about something. Jesus asked what was the matter. A man came forward to tell Jesus that his son was afflicted with seizures and an unclean spirit. He begged Jesus to heal his son because the apostles had failed.
Discussion Questions
We can well imagine that the father of the boy approached Jesus with feelings of desperation and hope. What questions do you have about the boy’s double affliction? What gives us hope when bad things happen?
